Float Cocktails

Aloha Colada

 

Chilled hurricane glass with 1 scoop ice

4 ounces pina colada mix

4 ounces Float

Stir well. Add an umbrella with a cherry and a straw

 

Broken Cork Screw

 

Chilled pilsner glass with 1 scoop ice

5.5 ounces orange juice (1 small can)

4 ounces Float

1 ounce grenadine

Garnish with an orange slice on the rim. Add a straw.

 

CosmiKaze

 

Chilled martini glass

In a cocktail shaker add 1 scoop ice and

5.5 ounces cranberry juice

1 ounce lime simple syrup

4 ounces Float martini

Top with orange zest.

 

Flojito

 

Chilled hurricane glass with 1 scoop ice

1 ounce mint simple syrup

1 ounce lime simple syrup

4 ounces Float

8 ounces club soda (fill glass)

Garnish with mint leaves or a slice of lime. Add a straw.

 

Ginger Snap

 

Chilled martini glass with a nutmeg sugar rim

In a cocktail shaker add ice and

4 ounces ginger simple syrup

4 ounces Float

Shake and strain into the martini glass

 

Nutmeg Sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 Tablespoon ground nutmeg

 

Markham-rita

 

Chilled martini glass and dip rim in lime juice.

In a cocktail shaker add 1 scoop ice

1 ounce lemon simple syrup

1/2 ounce blood orange bitters (sold at Westport Winery)

1 ounce lime simple syrup

1 ounce lime juice

4 ounces Float

Shake and strain into the martini glass

Garnish with a slice of lime on the rim

 

Purple Sow

 

Chilled hurricane glass filled with ice

2 ounces huckleberry daiquiri mix (sold at Westport Winery)

1 ounce lemon simply syrup

4 ounces Float

7 ounces club soda (fill glass)

Stir well. Top with whipped cream. Add a straw.

 

Seismic Sea Dog

 

Chilled hurricane glass with a Kosher sea salt rim, add ice

5.5 ounces grapefruit juice

4 ounces Float

Add a straw.

 

Stiletto

 

Chilled hurricane glass with a celery seed and salt rim, add 1 scoop ice

4 ounces Float

5.5 ounces tomato juice (1 small can)

1 ounce Worcestershire sauce

1 ounce lemon juice

Garnish with a celery stick dipped in horseradish.

 

Stop, Grope & Roll

 

Chilled martini glass, dip in lime juice then Pixy-Stix and sugar rim.

In a cocktail shaker with ice add

4 ounces wild berry lemonade

4 ounces Float

Shake and strain into the martini glass

 

Tazor

 

Chilled pilsner glass with 1 scoop ice

4 ounces cold passionfruit tea

4 ounces Float

½ ounce blood orange bitters (sold at Westport Winery)

1 ounce lemon simple syrup

Garnish with a slice of lemon

 

Tickle Me Tiki

 

Chilled hurricane glass with 1 scoop ice

5.5 ounces pineapple juice

4 ounces Float

1 ounce grenadine

½ ounce blood orange bitters (sold at Westport Winery)

Add a cherry on an umbrella and a straw

 

Simple Syrups

 

Lime simple syrup

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1 cup key lime juice

1 teaspoon vodka

 

Mint simple syrup

2 cups sugar

2 cups water

1 cup muddled mint leaves

1 teaspoon vodka

 

Ginger Simple Syrup

2 cups sugar

2 cups water

1-1/2 cups grated fresh ginger

 

Lemon simple syrup

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1 cup lemon juice

1 teaspoon vodka

 

Bring the water to a boil. Dissolve the sugar into the boiling water, stirring constantly. Once the sugar is dissolved completely, remove the pan from the heat and add juice. (Note: Do not allow the syrup to boil for too long or the syrup will be too thick.)Allow to cool completely and thicken, then bottle. Add vodka to prevent crystallization.
